"More Security Problems."

That's what the title bar said at keyword "AOL Live" on October 11. Usually, its title bar reads "AOL Live!" Something was clearly wrong...

Further down were the standard set of icons -- "Live!" "Coming Attractions!" and "What's Hot!" But the attackers supplied their own answer.

"Glaze and Hex are hot."

It was one of seven attacks Saturday night. As AOL users chatted, a mysterious figure scrolled the following message through the chat rooms...

JustHacked: Keywords: Steve Case, AOL Live, Reebok, LSI, OnQ, Kidzine, JCOL

A fter ten days of research, AOL Watch has confirmed JustHacked's boast. All seven attacks have been confirmed. They keywords correspond to Steve Case's community update, AOL Live, Reebok, Lifestyles & Interests Channel, OnQ, ABC's KidZine, and AOL's Jewish Community Online area. Screen-shots on AOL Watch capture the extent of the changes to AOL's original content. At least 22 content areas have had their security compromised since this spring...
