AOL's going to war! And in this revolution, the first one to go might be AT&T!

It's not so much that AOL wants to eliminate AT&T. They just want to require them to hand-over high-speed data delivery technology owned by one of AT&T's subsidary companies. AT&T officials feels that AOL is trying to extort this concession by protesting a crucial business deal AT&T is trying to complete....

It's part of a bigger picture. Bloomberg News reports AOL is betting $10 billion on high-speed connectivity for their service. Of course, very few of AOL's customers will benefit from the technology in the near future -- but AOL doesn't care. It's all about market share. (Unfortunately, where it really matters -- the stock market -- Yahoo is doing better!)
