Suck.com was a web darling from 1995 to 2001, dispensing its short bursts of insight into web culture and the world. Founded by two renegade employees at Wired, it eventually grew into a critically-acclaimed bastion of insight and attitude. Or something like that.

Anyways, when financial troubles brought Suck.com to an end, co-founder Carl Steadman sunk his lucre into Plastic.com, an online community modeled on the software from Slashdot. Plastic chugged along, a kind of interactive blog/community thing that offered a handy commons for keeping up on the topical and weird world of current events

I'm glad it's still around...
